2007 Conferences on Homelessness and Affordable Housing are July 24 and July 25-26
The 2007 Wisconsin Conference on Homelessness will once again be held in conjunction with the A Home for Everyone Affordable Housing Conference. This one-day conference sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce (Commerce) – Division of Housing and Community Development will bring together private, not-for-profit, and public agencies to address the complex issues of homelessness. Agency leaders, case managers, advocates, homeless and formerly homeless individuals will explore solutions to ending homelessness in Wisconsin. The A Home for Everyone 2007- "Where Community Starts" Affordable Housing Conference marks the 11th annual such conference sponsored by the Wisconsin Collaborative for Affordable Housing. Collaborative members include Commerce, other state and federal agencies and housing-related organizations. Workshops and plenary sessions will focus on strategies, programs, and learned knowledge which addresses the binding power of housing in strengthening community in all its aspects: social, economic, and cultural. The conference provides numerous opportunities for networking and sharing of struggles and successes for government agencies, housing providers, financiers, advocates, developers, and others. This year's conferences will take place Tuesday-Thursday, July 24-26, at the Ho-Chunk Casino, Hotel and Convention Center in Baraboo, WI.
