River Falls Receives More Than $400,000 for Senior Rental Housing
Governor Jim Doyle recently announced that Windmill Place, LLC, River Falls, Pierce County, has received a $418,752 Rental Housing Development Grant to develop additional housing for senior citizens. "It is important to invest in affordable housing for our citizens," Governor Doyle said. "I am pleased that we could help ensure new rental housing opportunities for senior citizens in River Falls." River Falls has a low vacancy rate in rental housing. This new housing project will provide 24 accessible, affordable units for senior citizens. The total project cost is $3.8 million. The HOME Rental Housing Development Program helps local developers increase the stock of affordable rental units. The rental units are leased to persons who have low and very low incomes. The awards allow rental property owners cover a portion of the construction costs and other development expenses. For further information about this program, contact Jim Frymark, Commerce, Bureau of Local Development, at 608/266-2742, or jfrymark@commerce.state.wi.us. -- Tony Hozeny |
