Governor Doyle Announces $750,000 for New Allstate Office in Cross Plains - Wisconsin Department of Commerce Newsletter

Governor Jim Doyle announced the arrival of a new Allstate Express office in Cross Plains on April 4, filling a corporate void when the Lands' End call center closed up operations in 2000. Allstate plans to hire over 200 employees within the next year. Governor Jim Doyle recently announced that the Allstate Corporation will receive up to $750,000 in tax credits to establish an Express claims office in Cross Plains. The new office will create more than 200 jobs by 2008. The Governor welcomed the company to Wisconsin which is establishing its newest Express claims office at the former address of Lands' End in Cross Plains.

"Wisconsin has always been home to some of the greatest workers, the greatest universities, and the greatest companies in the world,” Governor Doyle said. "It's a real pleasure to welcome a great company like Allstate to Wisconsin.”

Allstate will receive up to $750,000 in Enterprise Development Zone tax credits to establish the office in Cross Plains, which was hit hard by the closing of a call center two years ago, from the Department of Commerce.

"Allstate's goal is to provide the best customer service in the insurance industry - simple, straight forward and customer focused," said Leo Fansler, Allstate Assistance Vice President for Claims. "Today, here in Cross Plains, we are taking another step towards achieving our goal. "

"Cross Plains is not only Famous for Friendliness, but also is home to some of the hardest and most dedicated workers. Thus, we are proud that a great company such as Allstate, would choose Cross Plains to establish a call center.”

Allstate is an industry leader in the personal property and casualty insurance business and also specializes in life insurance, retirement and financial products. Allstate is retrofitting the 35,500- sq. ft. building interior with new furniture and furnishings. The building will be equipped with state-of-the-art computer equipment, voice and data wiring, telephone system, and technical training room. The building will include cafeteria space as well as meeting and conference rooms.
