In an effort to help individuals who are planning to build biodiesel refining facilities navigate state tank code construction requirements, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) is currently developing a guide specific to Comm 10 storage tank regulatory requirements, operational codes and standards. The guide provides an educational overview of the regulatory requirements for storage tank systems.

It is important that a pre-installation plan review is performed to make certain that tanks installed in a biodiesel refining process meet the code for the application, as well as the structure they are housed in.

We expect that the guide will be available via the Commerce website in early October.
