Each year the Division of Housing and Community Development coordinates the Wisconsin Fair Housing Network's Fair Housing Poster and Essay Contest. Notice of the contest is sent to local organizations across the state. The winning posters and essays from those local contests are submitted to the Division. The winners at the state level are invited to an awards ceremony at the state Capitol.

This year the awards ceremony will be held on June 30, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. First Lady Jessica Doyle has been invited to help present the awards. Also assisting with the awards ceremony will be representatives from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Commerce, and Wisconsin Fair Housing Network.

The theme is selected each year by those attending the awards ceremony the previous year. The 2006 theme is "Fair Housing: The Face of the Future."
