24th Annual
Governor's Conference on Minority Business Development
Minority-owned businesses seeking expanded opportunities and purchasing agents looking for quality minority vendors will want to attend the 24th annual Governor's Conference on Minority Business Development: Marketplace 2005. The event will be held Dec. 1-2 at the Country Springs Hotel & Convention Center, Waukesha. "Governor Jim Doyle's Grow Wisconsin plan calls for expanding the economic opportunities for minority-owned businesses," said Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Mary P. Burke. "Marketplace provides minority businesses with an excellent opportunity to meet customers and potential financial partners." The conference will include an awards dinner on Thursday, workshops, panel discussions, networking forums, and a trade fair on Friday. Featured speakers include Governor Jim Doyle (invited) and Albert C. Black, Jr., President and CEO of On-Target Supply and Logistics of Dallas, Texas Banks, venture capitalists and other service providers will also be on hand to provide assistance on an as-needed basis.
