Gov. Doyle
Announces Training Awards
Governor Jim Doyle recently announced that three recipients will share $241,000 in Customized Labor Training (CLT) grants from the Wisconsin Development Fund to assist with labor training. The awards were made at the Wisconsin Development Finance Board meeting held Sept. 26, 2005 in Madison. "Through my 'Grow Wisconsin' plan, we are working hard to foster the growth of business statewide, create good-paying jobs for our citizens, and continue to strengthen our economy," Governor Doyle said. "These projects will upgrade the skills of employees on new technologies that will help these companies improve their competitive position in the global economy." The training projects will train 144 employees, create 71 jobs, and leverage $349,037 in private investment. For further information about the Wisconsin Development Fund, contact John Stricker, Department of Commerce, at 608/261-7710.
