A Good Budget for Business
Every year, my colleagues at Trek Bicycles and I would huddle to set aggressive
sales targets, reaffirm our commitment to continuous improvement, and
achieve maximum cost savings. Governor Jim Doyle's 2005-2007 budget reflects
the same commitment to both growth and efficiency. The Governor has sent
a strong signal that he is serious in making Wisconsin a great place to

Prairie du Chien to Department of Commerce's Main Street Program
Governor Jim Doyle recently announced that Monroe and Prairie du Chien
have been selected for the Main Street Program, which provides technical
assistance to local downtown revitalization efforts. Full

Article Comm 5 and 47 Code Changes
in the Environmental and Regulatory Services Division (ERS)
As reported in earlier issues of this newsletter, a thorough update is
currently underway in the ERS Division for the Wisconsin Administrative
Code chapters that address the Petroleum Environmental Cleanup Fund Award
(PECFA) program. This code update is expected to affect site investigation
and cleanup activities at about 4,500 remaining sites where petroleum-product
discharges have occurred. This program currently issues $5 million to
$6 million each month in reimbursements to site owners and operators for
these investigation and cleanup activities. Full

to Central Europe
Wisconsin businesses interested in initiating or increasing exporting
sales to the new Central Europe (EU) can join Gov. Jim Doyle's Trade Mission
