The Department of Commerce-Bureau of Housing is making approximately $4.5 million in HOME and ADDI funding available to eligible applicants through an annual competition. The HOME Single-Family Housing (HSF) program combines the HOME Homebuyer and HOME Rehabilitation and Accessibility programs into a single program to assist homebuyers and homeowners.

Eligible activities include purchase and rehabilitation assistance for single-family housing to be owned by low-and moderate-income households. The program is designed to provide funding for homebuyers needing assistance with acquisition (down payment and closing costs), acquisition and rehabilitation, or new construction of homes. In addition, the program provides funding for homeowners needing to make essential improvements to their home.

Eligible applicants for funds under the HSF program include:

• Local units of government;
  
• Elected governing body of a federally-recognized American Indian tribe/band in the State of Wisconsin;
  
• Nonprofit corporations organized under Chapter 181 Wisconsin Statutes;
  
• For-profit corporations organized under chapter 180 Wisconsin Statutes;
  
• Religious societies organized under Chapter 187 Wisconsin Statutes;
  Housing Authorities.

Individual households are not eligible to apply through the competition.
