The Commerce Bureau of Housing (BOH) has awarded the City of Menasha $57,500 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Special Housing Project funds. The City of Menasha will use the funds for site improvements for the development of four units on the city’s northeast side.

The CDBG award will be used to extend public facilities onto the site, which has already been acquired by the City of Menasha. A local developer is building the homes at a reduced cost, and the Winnebago County Housing Authority has committed down payment and closing costs assistance.

"The result of this layered commitment of funds will be to create single family homes that are affordable for low-to moderate-income households," CDBG Program Manager Caryn Stone said.

The BOH is encouraged by the cooperative nature of these projects, and hopes that their continued success will spur on more creative partnerships throughout the state to facilitate additional quality, affordable housing for Wisconsin residents.
