The New Bureau
of Entrepreneurship (BOE)
Recognizing the important contribution of entrepreneurs
to the Wisconsin economy, Governor Jim Doyle created a new Bureau
of Entrepreneurship (BOE) in his economic strategy, Grow Wisconsin.
Located at the Wisconsin Department of Commerce’s Division of Business
Development, the BOE serves as a one-stop shop, first point of contact
for the state’s entrepreneurs. In addition to basic business start-up
assistance, the bureau will also focus its efforts on nurturing
high-potential, high-growth companies. Existing Commerce programs
geared toward helping small businesses get started are included
in the new bureau.
Business Startup Assistance Technology Development and Outreach Clusters Several new publications are available from the Bureau of Entrepreneurship including An Entrepreneur’s Guide for Going into Business in Wisconsin, http://commerce.wi.gov/MT/MT-FAX-0606.html, Starting a Business in Wisconsin http://commerce.wi.gov/MT/MT-FAX-0712.pdf, and an updated women's business resource listing, http://commerce.wi.gov/MT/MT-FAX-0709.pdf.
