Business Startup Assistance
The BOE helps business startups and existing companies by providing license and permitting information, environmental assistance and advocacy services through the agency’s toll-free helpline, the online Business Wizard, one-on-one consultations, workshops and publications.

Technology Development and Outreach
BOE encourages high technology businesses with potential for future growth to start-up, relocate, expand or develop new facilities in Wisconsin. A Technology Development Consultant provides technical assistance, consulting services and outreach to entrepreneurs. The Bureau also works with businesses interested in exploring federal research and development funding opportunities.

Clusters
Through its cluster initiative, Commerce will target and support established and emerging industries creating quality, high-paying jobs. The BOE works with the 10 industry clusters identified by the state, including: biotechnology, dairy, food processing, information technology, medical devices, paper, plastic, printing, small engine manufacturing and tourism.
