PFED Program
Funds Infrastructure Improvements
The Public Facilities for Economic Development
(PFED) Program provides funding for public infrastructure, i.e.
water mains, sanitary sewer mains, storm sewers, street construction
and replacement, and water towers, that will directly benefit a
business expansion, startup or retention in a Wisconsin community.
Emphasis is on jobs that pay high wages for the area, offer benefits,
and will result in substantial private investment in the community.
During the semi-annual reporting period ending June 30, 2003, Commerce made three PFED awards totaling $1,250,000, which supported economic development projects totaling $2,084,170. These awards leveraged $834,170 in private funds and created/retained 237 jobs. (See chart.) Contact your local Area Development Manager to discuss a potential project and to receive application materials. --Dan Ramsey |
