$6.25 Million
in Brownfield
Gov.
Jim Doyle and Commerce Secretary Cory L. Nettles recently announced
15 Brownfield Grant Awards totaling $6.25 million.
Grant Awards Announced "These brownfield grants empower people to restore industrial sites and improve their communities," Gov. Doyle said. The nine communities and six businesses selected to receive grants are redeveloping contaminated properties that were otherwise abandoned or under-used. It is anticipated that the projects funded will result in the remediation and reuse of 252 acres of land, generate a total investment of $146 million, and create over 180 jobs.
