International
Trade Shows
Biotechnology
is an important sector to Wisconsin's future economy. The industry
is highly internationalized and Commerce's International Division
is promoting the state and its companies at several upcoming global
events.
to Feature Biotechnology The second annual BioPartnering North America, which will be held in Vancouver, Canada February 8-10, is not only of strategic value – providing access to the Canadian biotechnology industry, second only to the U.S. in the number of biotech firms -- but is also designed to maximize the partnership opportunities required for commercialization. Commerce’s Canada Office will pre-schedule one-on-one appointments to identify potential sources of venture capital, clinical testing, and other partners attending the event. The International Division will be participating in the BIO trade show again in 2004. This year the premier international trade event in the industry will be held in San Francisco, June 6-9. This event attracts scientists, financiers, and business people from around the world. The International Division will be working with our overseas offices in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, and Europe to identify potential partners, customers, and contacts for Wisconsin firms attending the event. For more information about either biotechnology event, contact Christine Stamm at (608) 264-7824. -- Stanley Pfrang |
