IMPORTANT: As of July 1st, 2011, functions once performed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce have been moved to other state agencies and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The former Commerce web site will continue to exist for the next several months as resources are moved to new web site locations. We will make every attempt possible to direct our users to the new locations as web resources are moved.

Export Assistance

The experienced staff of the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Export Development work one-on-one with beginning and experienced exporters in order to assess the demand for Wisconsin-made products outside of the United States, help plan a firm's approach to international markets in a systematic fashion, and introduce Wisconsin businesses to potential customers, distributors, or partners in other parts of the world, as well as support service providers here in Wisconsin who can assist you in developing profitable international transactions.

Export Development Managers are located in different parts of the state to bring our services closer to the exporting community. They work one-on-one with companies to solve export problems and plan for future export successes. There is no charge for our consulting services. Click herefor contact information.  Each of our Export Development Managers has developed a greater expertise in a different part of the world.  They can help you understand the business culture of another country and how to best respond to foreign inquiries. They can also help you identify other important issues that can affect how customers in other countries may respond to your product.
