National Entrepreneurship Week 2008

To celebrate National Entrepreneurship Week, you have the opportunity to submit questions to a panel of three entrepreneurs who will be featured in a one-hour webcast broadcast live from the Governor's Conference Room on February 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.

If you are interested in learning about the real-life challenges of a successful entrepreneur you will want to tune in to hear from Rishi Shah, owner of Flying Cart. Flying Cart is an on-line business that provides a three-step guide to setting up your "own" on-line business.

If you are interested in learning how you can operate a business while attending school you will want to tune in to hear from Hannah Iverson and Natasha Holmes who both operate successful business while attending high school. Hannah and Natasha are the winners of Wisconsin's Young Entrepreneur of the Year Recognition Award.

These speakers will respond to your questions during a live internet webcast. Submit questions in advance of the show by clicking on the "Ask A Question" link found on each of the entrepreneur's business bio page. These speakers will also receive recognition for their entrepreneurial accomplishments at the beginning of the webcast from Governor Jim Doyle, the Department of Public Instruction and the Department of Commerce.

Entrepreneurial Webcast Line-up

  • Rishi Shah, launched "Flying Cart" in 2006 with friends and fellow UW-Madison alumni, Shah. Flying Cart is a unique, affordable and easy to use e-commerce business for small retailers. Since entering the the on-line small business scene, Flying Cart (flyingcart.com) is continuing to holding its own in this competitive market while battling for customers against web giants like EbayStores and Yahoo SmallBusiness.
  • Hannah Iverson, of Plum City High School, is involved in breeding top genetic Holstein and Guernsey cattle and markets embryos to dairy producers. Hannah's business, Classic View Enterprise, is a business that is attempting to improve the genetic potential of all cattle breeds.
  • Natasha Holmes, of Madison West High School, has followed through with her jewelry business for the last five years and enjoys the creative aspect that it provides.
