IMPORTANT: As of July 1st, 2011, functions once performed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce have been moved to other state agencies and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The former Commerce web site will continue to exist for the next several months as resources are moved to new web site locations. The Division of Business Development houses staff in four bureaus.

Bureau of Business Development
Area Development Managers, the primary business contacts, assist business expansions and promote business retention in their respective territories. Click here for a map of regions within the state.

Bureau of Business Finance
Grant specialists work with Area Development Managers to establish the level of financing for each project.

Bureau of Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship provides assistance for small businesses including, the Small Business Clean Air Assistance Program, the Diesel Idling Reduction Program, Woman-Owned Business Ombudsman and WBE certification program and the Small Business Ombudsman. The Bureau also plays a key role in the oversight of Commerce's state-wide Revolving Loan Fund (RLF).

Bureau of Export Development
Export Development Managers work one-on-one with companies to assess the demand for Wisconsin-made products, solve export problems, and plan for future export successes.  Follow the link for a map showing the Export Development Manager responsible for your part of the state.  The Bureau also coordinates trade missions to other countries.

Bureau of Minority Business Development
Minority Business Development provides consultation and services to minority business owners, entrepreneurs, and resource organizations, helping to foster the growth of minority businesses in Wisconsin.
