IMPORTANT: As of July 1st, 2011, functions once performed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce have been moved to other state agencies and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The former Commerce web site will continue to exist for the next several months as resources are moved to new web site locations. We will make every attempt possible to direct our users to the new locations as web resources are moved.

Minority (MBE) and Disabled Veteran (DVB) Business Development

The Wisconsin Department of Administration Minority Business Development program is designed to generate and foster the growth of minority businesses in the State of Wisconsin. The Bureau of Minority Business Development provides consultation and services to minority business owners, entrepreneurs, and resource organizations.

Special Session Act 7 created a new Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), a public-private corporation to replace the state Department of Commerce. This took effect July 1, 2011. WEDC will lead Wisconsin's economic development efforts.

The Certification Program has been placed under the Department of Administration. The Business Development Program and Marketplace are now placed under WEDC. During this transition, our website, contact phone and physical address will remain the same until further notice.
