Wisconsin Diesel Exhaust Retrofit Grant

The Department of Commerce is administering a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant program to assist heavy-duty diesel truck owners in the procurement of EPA and/or California Air Resources Board verified retrofit technologies. These technologies will maximize the reductions being achieved on trucks that are being outfitted with idle reduction technologies with state funds as well as reduce emissions from trucks that did not receive state funds.

Funding Decisions: Commerce will fund those projects that provide the greatest reductions of emissions in the most cost effective manner.  

To date, the following Wisconsin motor carriers have received grants:

1. Wangerin Trucking, Marinette, WI.
   Funding was used to purchase eight diesel oxidation catalysts.
   
   
2. Gundrum Trucking, Slinger, WI.
   Funding was used to purchase six diesel oxidation catalysts.
    
3. W & A Distribution Services, Fort Atkinson, WI.
   Funding was used to purchase four diesel oxidation catalysts and two partial continuously regenerating technologies.
