S&B Public Sector Safety Program

Program Description: The Safety and Buildings Division establishes and enforce occupational safety and health standards for public sector employees. Consultation and inspections are provided. Wisconsin's Clean Indoor Air Act and the Right to Know Law, which provide information to employees concerning workplace conditions, are administered by S&B.

(Wisconsin private sector safety regulations are enforced by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.)

-   Public Employee Safety and Health Code Comm 32.35 (1) substitutes the the 1992 verson of OSHA  Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs, PDF file) for the 2003 OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits.    (Disregard the "transitional" limits within the PDF document, as the final rule limits are in effect for public employers in the state of Wisconsin.)  The limits in this rule are subject to change with future additions or deletions within Comm 32.
