S&B Credentials Program (Certifications,
Licenses, Registrations)

The
Safety and Buildings Division administers the
certifications,
licenses, and registrations of approximately 80,000 individuals in 73
categories. Examples of services are processing of new applications and
renewals, exam administration, renewals, continuing education records,
and continuing education course approval. Most certification,
registration, and licensing
services are located in the Madison offices. |
A Statement of Scope was issued July 31, 2009, for a possible Comm 5 code development
project relating to the licensing and
regulation of thermal system insulation mechanics as
mandated by 2009
Wisconsin Act 16 and relating to construction contractor
registration as mandated by 2009
Wisconsin Act 28,
s. 2155m. The public may comment on the project within thirty
days of
publication of the statement, which is expected to be August 14.
(Comments will also be accepted at various times as the
project

Some Wisconsin contractors
need the new

Contractor Registration
- A Comm 2, Fee Code, and Comm 5, Licenses, Certifications, and Regulations Code, change proposal
related to credential application fees and fees for review of a
completed credential exam, was sent to the legislature on November 12,
2009, for assignment for committee review.
