5. Draft changes for legislative review: A code change proposal related to possible fee increases was sent to the legislature for review on July 25, 2008. A germane modification PDF file, i.e. a change in the draft proposal, was sent to the legislature on September 18. (The emergency rule here relates to the package that was sent for legislative review, noted above.) An emergency rule was signed May 25, 2007, providing for licensing of elevator contractors and installers. The rule grants licenses to current elevator contractors and installers who meet certain criteria. (Licenses do not need to be applied for under the emergency rules; there will not be any license cards issued. If someone is now asked to prove being contractors or installers, proof according to the criteria in sections Comm 5.37 and 5.38 can be show to the requestor.)
