A public hearing was on Wednesday, May 21. 2008 on proposed changes to Comm 41, Boilers and Pressure Vessels Code, and Comm 45, Mechanical Refrigeration Code. Comments are being considered by S&B staff.  Hearing info

2007 Wisconsin Act 203 sets new requirements for licensing of suppliers of liquified petroleum gas and sets new notification requirements. The act also provides for a statewide communications system for location of some gas tanks and transmission facilities.  See an analysis of 2007 Senate Bill 273, PDF file.  See 2007 Wisconsin Act 203, PDF file.  Rules for implementing Act 203 have not yet been created.

Program Description: Safety requirements are enforced by Safety and Buildings Division staff for power boilers, heating boilers, pressure vessels, and nuclear power plant components. Shop and field consultation and inspections are provided. Boiler repairers are registered and boiler inspectors are certified.

  National Board Boiler Inspector examination information
- Exams are conducted on the first Wednesday and following Thursday in March, June, September and December each year. Location is the State Office Building, 141 NW Barstow St, 4th Floor, Waukesha, Wisconsin.  The examination fee is $125.
