Code Changes // All code change projects - A Public Hearing will be held on proposed rule changes for chapters Comm 14, 21 to 23, 61 to 63 and 66 relating to fire prevention; recordkeeping for fires; fire suppression for mobile kitchens; structural, ventilating and vapor-barrier requirements for one- and 2-family dwellings; air barriers and local enforcement for commercial buildings; and previously constructed buildings that are converted to community-based residential facilities. See draft code language, PDF file. - An Emergency Rule is in effect as of September 5, 2009, that effects the recently adopted Comm 20 to 25 changes relating to the approved version of REScheck software used to show compliance with the Uniform Dwelling Code thermal envelope requirements. The rule amends s. Comm 22.31 (2) (b) that currently allows the use of REScheck software, Version 4.1.0 or later. Transmittal documents, PDF file. Emergency rule, PDF file. - A Statement of Scope was approved for a Comm 5 code development project relating to the licensing and regulation of thermal system insulation mechanics as mandated by 2009 Wisconsin Act 16 and for construction contractor registration as mandated by 2009 Wisconsin Act 28, s. 2155m (page 441). Work may proceed on both rule proposals as of September 4, 2009. - A proposed code package was sent September 24, 2009 to the legislature for commitee review. It involves Comm 82, Plumbing Code; Comm 5, Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Code; and Comm 2, Fee Code. The code changes would increasing the permit to operate fees for boilers, pressure vessels, anhydrous ammonia systems, mechanical refrigeration systems, conveyances and passenger ropeways to reflect the cost of providing these programs; promulgates rules for the testing and registration of cross-connection control devices; and clarifies plan review and approval procedures for certain water treatment systems where the source of water is a well or surface water. - A Comm 2, Fee Code, and Comm 5, Licenses, Certifications, and Regulations Code, change proposal related to credential application fees and fees for review of a completed credential exam, was sent tot he legislature on November 12, 2009, for assignment for committee review. - Proposed changes to Comm 5.12, establishing a schedule of forfeitures for POWTS governmental unit employees, were adopted on Oct. 5, 2009, and will be effective Dec. 1, 2009.
