Project Saving 115 Jobs for Hardworking Wisconsin Families

MADISON - Governor Jim Doyle today announced that ACCO Brands Corporation will consolidate several manufacturing and distribution operations in Pleasant Prairie, saving 115 jobs for hardworking families in Wisconsin. Department of Commerce Secretary Richard J. Leinenkugel made the announcement on behalf of the Governor at a press conference held at the company's Pleasant Prairie facility.

"I have worked hard as Governor to make Wisconsin a friendly place to do business, and am thrilled that ACCO Brands has decided to consolidate its operations here in Wisconsin," Governor Doyle said. "Through our Department of Commerce, we are providing a $750,000 loan to assist the company with the consolidation."

"The cooperation we received from the State of Wisconsin, and our prior experience with Wisconsin's excellent workforce, were compelling reasons for our choice to consolidate operations in Pleasant Prairie," said Boris Elisman, president, ACCO Brands Americas. "We are grateful to Governor Doyle, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and to the Kenosha Area Business Alliance for all of their efforts, and we look forward to a long and mutually productive future in Wisconsin."

ACCO Brands strongly considered consolidating operations in Illinois before deciding on Wisconsin. The project will retain 115 jobs and generate $2 million in investment.
