MADISON - Learning to successfully do business with the Japanese is the subject of Lakeshore Technical College's (LTC) upcoming seminar, "From Kampai to Meishi, Chopsticks to Cultural Taboos," a Japanese business etiquette seminar that will be held on Tuesday, August 12 from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon in the Lake Michigan Conference Room. Registration is $29.

"I'd encourage any business professionals who plan on attending the 40th Annual Midwest U.S. - Japan Association Conference in Milwaukee this September (7-9) in Milwaukee," says Commerce Secretary Jack L. Fischer, AIA. "It's an excellent introduction to gaining necessary skills to interact with Japanese counterparts."

Speakers at the seminar include Kenji Higashi, the Japan External Trade Organization Business Advisor for Wisconsin whose office is in the Department of Commerce in Madison and Jennifer Siebert, the assistant director of the Hayssen Academic Resource Center and English Language Institute and teaches Elementary Japanese language and culture at the college.

The three-hour seminar will provide an introduction to Japanese business, culture, language and etiquette including crucial protocol to maximize communication (bowing, seating arrangements, etc.)

To register by phone call: 1-888-468-6582, ext. 1366. For complete information and to register online go to: www.gotoltc.edu/seminars.
