Governor Doyle Announces $100,000 to the Village of Luck for Library/Museum Project
For Immediate Release: May 7, 2007 MADISON-Governor Jim Doyle announced today that the Village of Luck, Polk County will receive a $100,000 grant from the Community Development Block Grant-Public Facilities (CDBG-PF) Program to construct a new library/museum. "One of my biggest jobs as Governor is making sure communities have the resources they need to grow and remain strong," Governor Doyle said. "From upgrading infrastructure to helping businesses compete, my Administration and I are committed to the strength of our state's workers, businesses, citizens, and communities." The Village of Luck will use the grant to construct a new 6,784-sq.-ft. library/museum. Total project cost is $819,500. The Department of Commerce (Commerce) administers the CDBG Program. These CDBG-PF grants play an important role in helping communities finance a wide range of projects designed to enhance the economic vitality of the community through the provision of community infrastructure, the expansion of tax base, job creation, and increased private investment in downtowns.
