Photo of John RichterFond du Lac native, Mr. John Richter, has been named senior vice president of the small business division of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), the official export-credit agency of the United States.  In his new position, Mr. Richter will be responsible for educating U.S. small-business exporters about the bank's product offerings and resources.  In fiscal 2008, Ex-Im Bank authorized $3.2 billion in direct support of U.S. small businesses as primary exporters.

"John Richter's knowledge of international trade finance, combined with his enthusiasm and demonstrated rapport with small-business exporters, foreign buyers and our lender partners is an unbeatable combination," said Mr. James Lambright, Ex-Im Bank chairman and president.

Before joining the Ex-Im Bank in 2000 as Regional Director for Africa, Mr. Richter served for eight years as the Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (TDA).  Prior to his government service, he was employed by Mercury Marine, Master Lock Company, and Uniroyal, Inc. in marketing and sales positions.  He has a Masters Degree in International Management from the American School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a B .A. from the University of Wisconsin.
