Wisconsin Native Promoted at Ex-Im Bank
Fond
du Lac native, Mr. John Richter, has been named senior vice president
of the small business division of the Export-Import Bank of the United
States (Ex-Im Bank), the official export-credit agency of the United
States. In his new position, Mr. Richter will be responsible for
educating U.S. small-business exporters about the bank's product
offerings and resources. In fiscal 2008, Ex-Im Bank authorized
$3.2 billion in direct support of U.S. small businesses as primary
exporters.
"John Richter's knowledge of international trade finance, combined with
his enthusiasm and demonstrated rapport with small-business exporters,
foreign buyers and our lender partners is an unbeatable combination,"
said Mr. James Lambright, Ex-Im Bank chairman and president.
Before joining the Ex-Im Bank in 2000 as Regional Director for Africa,
Mr. Richter served for eight years as the Regional Director for Africa
and the Middle East at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency
(TDA). Prior to his government service, he was employed by
Mercury Marine, Master Lock Company, and Uniroyal, Inc. in marketing
and sales positions. He has a Masters Degree in International
Management from the American School of International Management
(Thunderbird) and a B .A. from the University of Wisconsin.
