Food and Beverage Exhibit Opportunity in China
Wisconsin food and beverage companies interested in expanding their reach into China can benefit from exhibiting at the U.S.A. Pavilion at the SIAL China Food Show.  The event is scheduled for May 19-21, 2009, in Shanghai, China.  Additional meetings in Hangzhou, China, can be arranged for the days following the show.

SIAL China is considered the event not to be missed in Asia for professionals in the food, beverage, wine, and spirits industries.  Over 27,700 trade-only visitors from 85 countries attended SIAL China in 2008.  Of those, 56 percent came from the Shanghai region and 12 percent came from outside China.  U.S. companies can expect to see importers, agents, wholesalers, and distributors as well as representatives and food buyers from supermarkets, hotels, and restaurants at the show.

The cost for the U.S.A. Pavilion booth package is $5695 for nine square meters.  Funds are available to help Wisconsin companies defray the costs of exhibiting.  The Branded Program of Food Export-Midwest provides up to a 50 percent matching reimbursement to eligible companies for exhibit and travel fees.  In addition to exhibiting, companies can also participate in Food Show Plus! TM services offered by Food Export-Midwest.  These services help companies make the most of the tradeshow experience and include registration assistance with show organizers, pre-show competitor analysis for two products, dissemination of targeted invitations to qualified buyers for one-on-one meetings, on-site interpretation during show hours, translation services, on-site assistance and a table top showcase, and one-on-one meetings in Hangzhou, China.  The participation fee for Food Show Plus!™ Services is $300.

Information on the Branded Program and Food Show Plus!™ can be found on the FoodExport-Midwest website.  Questions can also be directed to Ms. Lisa Stout, Agricultural Marketing Consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, lisa.stout@wisconsin.gov, (608) 224-5126.
