Navigating a Chinese Business Banquet
Professor Wang Xiaojun, a visiting scholar from Wuhan, China, currently at the UW-Platteville Confucius Institute, will lead a presentation/discussion on the importance of formal dining events to business success in China.  The Program will take place on Tuesday, March 3 from 5:00-8:30pm at the Imperial Garden restaurant in Middleton, WI.  Participants will learn how to:
  • greet guests and hosts and exchange business cards and gifts “the Chinese way;”
  • recognize regional distinctions and adjust their manners to meet expectations in different cities; and
  • strengthen relationships with Chinese business partners.
In addition to the formal presentation, participants will experience a real business banquet and “learn by doing” about seating arrangements, serving etiquette, eating with chopsticks, and toasts.

To register, contact the Confucius Institute at UW-Platteville, hammermeistn@uwplatt.edu, (608) 342-1310.  The fee is $40.
