Zimbabwe's Inflation Rate: 66,212%
Zimbabwe's official annualized inflation rate was reported at 66,212.3
percent for 2007. “It is very frightening when one
considers that official figures don't take the alternative [black]
market into account, meaning real underlying inflation could be
higher,” said Best Doroh, an economic analyst with ZB Financial
Holdings which provides commercial and merchant banking, and other
financial services in southern Africa. Analysts often accuse the
Zimbabwean Central Statistics Office of understating the country's
inflation rate, the highest in the world.
