Bureau of Petroleum Products & Tanks - Special Program Notice and Information

The Wisconsin Department of Commerce has been involved in an extensive rebuilding of its regulated objects computer system and storage tank database. Permit renewals were suspend in September 1997 and in the interum regulatory compliance was randomly monitored through on-site inspections. The department implemented the new annual permit renewal process in November 2001 with anticipation that all tank owners will recieve a renewal application by the end of October 2002. Owners will receive a notification approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date along with an applicaation and information required for the permit renewal. All tanks owned by one company or individual have the same renewal date.

Comm 10 Flammable and Combustible Liquid Code revision
The department has convened a Comm 10 code revision committee to assist the department in reviewing and providing public input in the process of updating the code to address trends, innovation and technology, and current national standards. Link to Comm 10 Code Revision Committee.
