IMPORTANT: As of July 1st, 2011, functions once performed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce have been moved to other state agencies and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The former Commerce web site will continue to exist for the next several months as resources are moved to new web site locations. Good News ...

According to a January 2009 Time magazine article, Wisconsin is among the top tier of states encouraging energy efficiency. US Census Bureau data from January 2009 show that Wisconsin ranks 2nd-highest nationally in percent of population covered by health insurance; ranks 10th-lowest in identity theft; 14th-highest in Internet access; and offers the 12th-shortest commute to work.
