Visonex Lands Top Account, SBIR Grants with Help from Wisconsin Entrepreneurs Network (WEN) Visonex, Green Bay, produces an information management system for kidney dialysis centers. It recently went head-to-head with a major competitor and won a contract to serve a clinic employing 650 medial professionals. Seed funding for this project came initially from $109,000 Department of Commerce grant. Just a few weeks ago, the company learned that it had won a $350,000 Phase I grant and a $1.2 million Phase II grant from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program for R&D projects solicited by the National Institutes of Health. The company had previously been unsuccessful in its attempt to attract SBIR funding This time, WEN helped the company draft its SBIR proposal and coached it on a successful strategy for winning the grants.
