Food Trade Mission to Taiwan

Food Export-Midwest and Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection are sponsoring a Focused Trade Mission to Taiwan, September 29 - October 1, 2008. The emphasis will be on bakery ingredients and processed fruits. Significant demand exists in Taiwan for additives/fortifiers, cereals and grains, frosting and decorations, flavorings, fillings, flour/mixes, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, and dried fruit.

Mission participants will receive:

  1. Import analysis and a competitive store check for one product
  2. In-market seminar on the Taiwanese market and label regulations
  3. Guided tours of manufacturing facilities
  4. Guaranteed one-on-one meetings with key buyers, consolidators, importers, and distributors and a table-top product showcase for potential customers
  5. Company profile included in Taiwanese Trade Mission promotional brochure to be used during the table-top showcase and widely disseminated throughout the region
  6. Interpreters provided throughout the mission to facilitate communication between exporters and their potential customers
  7. Educational seminar of your product for the Taiwanese local trade

The participation fee is $475. Airfare, hotel, and personal expenses are not included. The Branded Program of Food Export-Midwest can cover 50 percent of some mission expenses incurred by qualifying companies. Information on program requirements can be found at http://www.brandedprogram.org. For more information on the mission, contact Ms. Lisa Stout, International Marketing Consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, lisa.stout@wisconsin.gov, (608) 224-5126.
