Learning to Communicate in China

The Confucius Institute at UW-Platteville has begun offering courses and workshops on Chinese language, business practices and etiquette, agriculture, and general culture for businesses and civic or professional groups. Many of these short courses are free of charge or at a minimal cost. Programming takes place on campus or can be arranged for other sites.

The Confucius Institute at UW-Platteville (www.uwplatt.edu/confucius ) is funded by the China Ministry of Education. It is staffed by two teachers from the South-Central University for Nationalities in China, and is designed to provide instruction in Mandarin Chinese and to deliver workshops on Chinese business practices and culture. Professor Xiaojun Wang offers classes in business, economics, agriculture, and culture. Professor Ganjun He offers the language classes. For more information, contact Marian Maciej-Hiner, Director of the Confucius Institute, naciejhm@uwplatt.edu, (608) 342-1302.
