Small Business Regulatory Review Board

Encourages Small Business Owners to Provide Feedback on State Regulations

An outreach effort was initiated this month by the Small Business Regulatory Review Board (SBRRB) to encourage small businesses to share their experience on how an existing state administrative rule or regulation has negatively impacted their business.

The SBRRB is seeking the feedback of small businesses that are independently owned and operated, with 25 or less full-time employees and annual sales of less than $5 million. The board, which consists of small business owners, state agency personnel and legislators, may then use this feedback to recommend changes to existing rules.

"It's important that small businesses take advantage of the opportunity to share their concerns or frustrations about problematic rules and regulations with the Small Business Regulatory Review Board," said Commerce Secretary Jack L. Fischer. Wisconsin's small business owners are the heart of Wisconsin's economy. We need to support them by hearing their concerns and consider their recommendations for rule changes that create economic growth instead of economic barriers to growth.

Small employers interested in providing feedback to the SBRRB may contact the Small Business Ombudsman at COMBDOmbudsman@wisconsin.gov or by phone at (608) 267-0297. (There is no deadline for providing feedback.) An outreach flyer, SBRRB brochure and numerous reports issued by the SBRRB may be found on the Department of Commerce website.
