Patterson Honored by SECC

Henrietta "Hank" Patterson, a familiar face in the Department of Commerce since before it was the Department of Commerce, was honored by the Partners in Giving Administrative Board on March 3, 2008 with the Robert A. Alesch lifetime achievement award for her service to the Partners campaign.

Henrietta "Hank" Patterson, pictured above with her plaque, was "floored" when surprised with the Partners in Giving's highest honor.

The following is inscribed on the plaque:

"This award is presented with deep gratitude to Henrietta "Hank" Patterson in recognition and appreciation of her loyal service to the Partners in Giving campaign. A passionate volunteer on behalf of the campaign, "Hank" has served on the Administrative Board since 1989. During this time she has devoted considerable time, energy, and leadership to the development of the training program and related materials as a member of the campaign's Training Committee.

Henrietta's commitment and dedication are evident in her willingness to do whatever is needed to plan for and execute successful campaigns. She seemingly is "always there," and for many, she is the epitome of what is revered most about grass-roots efforts and leaders.

Whatever her role, Henrietta provides stability and continuity. In selecting her for this honor, other volunteers credited her with being a solid foundation, one whose quiet dignity has helped the campaign to experience growth and success during her tenure. She more than aptly bespeaks the spirit of Robert Alesch and the award that bears his name. It is withy special pride that the campaign recognizes Henrietta for her many years of distinguished service.

This award is named in honor of Robert A. Alesch, a dedicated volunteer, who was a guiding spirit and presence for many years within the State, University & UWHC Employees Combined Campaign of Dane County and who, in retirement, continues to give of himself on behalf of the campaign.
