IMPORTANT: As of July 1st, 2011, functions once performed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce have been moved to other state agencies and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The former Commerce web site will continue to exist for the next several months as resources are moved to new web site locations. Students "Tune into Fair Housing" K-12 Poster & Essay Contest Winners Announced The annual Fair Housing Poster and Essay Contest award ceremony took place at the State Capitol on Friday, June 29th. Out of a total of 80 entries, twenty children from all over the state received awards for their "Tune in to Fair Housing" posters and essays. This was the first year where a student received an award in both the Poster and Essay categories. Martha Leplae-Arthur, (shown in photo) a past participant in this contest, won 3rd place in the Poster contest and 2nd place in the Essay contest, in her age category. She lives in Glendale and will be a 7th grader at Eastbrook Academy, near Milwaukee. The Department of Commerce, Wisconsin Realtors Association, Fair Housing Network, and U.S. Department of HUD sponsor this contest. Poster & Essay Winners
