IMPORTANT: As of July 1st, 2011, functions once performed by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce have been moved to other state agencies and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. Small Business Ombudsman

Wisconsin's Small Business Ombudsman assists business owners with:

Specific complaints about state laws, administrative rules, or agency interpretations;
  • information and referrals on special programs;
  • the progress of legislation and rules and acts as a small business advocate.

Small Business Regulatory Review Board
The ombudsman provides technical support to the Small Business Regulatory Review Board, which oversees the implementation of Wisconsin's Regulatory Flexibility Act.
